Does Pearl Lash offer any payment plans?

We understand that sometimes coming up with a full payment upfront might be challenging for most of us. For those reasons, we have implemented several convenient options for our students.

ZIP (formerly QuadPay) is a convenient payment plan system that breaks your payment into 4 equal smaller payments over a 6 week period. The best part – it is interest-free and does not require a credit check! It takes 20 seconds to qualify at checkout! All you need is a valid credit or debit card issued in the USA!

Another option we offer is our in-house deposit option (not available for Online Training). Each student may register with just a $200 deposit to secure a seat to any of our classroom training events. The balance of the class will not be due until 7 days prior to your particular training date.

Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer any scholarships or training assistance. If something changes in the future we will surely let everyone know about it.

What type of license or certification do I need to become a professional lash artist?

Please be advised that every state has its own unique regulations. In the state of Florida (Pearl Lash Headquarters), you are not required to have a special eyelash extensions license however the board of Cosmetology does require a Lash Artist to have one of the following state licenses: Facialist (Esthetician), Cosmetologist, Full Specialist or a Medical License (including RN). For a detailed list of state regulations please follow this link.

After receiving the Pearl Lash Certificate of Completion you will be required to obtain one of the state-regulated licenses stated above before you can work professionally in the state of Florida. Pearl Lash Certificate of Completion does not permit performing eyelash extensions professionally until one of the above-stated licenses is obtained. According to the Florida department of professional regulations, a person can obtain a Facialist (Esthetician) license without a GED as long as they have reached the age of 16 years old. For additional information please read our “How To Become An Eyelash Artist” article or “Esthetician License Through a Trade School” article.

What is the difference between Online and Classroom Training?

The main difference between Online and Classroom training is the live model hands-on experience.

The theory portion of the training curriculum for our Classic Online and Classroom training is identical. The Certification level upon completing either course is identical.

The hands-on portion of the Online class would consist of a series of detailed step by step presentations including full setup, gel patch application, isolation, application, and removal process. Our Master Trainer will provide ample time for each student to clarify any details before proceeding to the next presentation. Upon completion of the Online training, our students begin practicing to replicate each of the steps they learned on their own time while having a direct phone line access to our Master Trainer for follow-up questions and to review photos of their work.

In-classroom hands-on portion, a student receives 4 hours of live hands-on model training under the supervision of the Master Trainer.

The Lifetime Membership a student receives upon completing their training is identical for both Online and Classroom training.

What is the difference between Classic and Volume Training?

As with any new profession, one must first learn to walk before they can run. Eyelash Extension artistry is no different in this regard.

Pearl Lash Classic Training Course and Certification is our beginner level introductory course. Classic training will delve deeply into key fundamentals of lash artistry. Subjects like proper sanitation, client medical and allergy analysis, the anatomy of the eye, client consultation, proper lash maintenance, hair growth cycles, how to conduct a test patch, lash extension removal, choosing the correct products, learning about the adhesives and focusing on isolation are some of the key elements discussed in the theory portion of the Classic Course. The second part of the course is dedicated to the actual Classic lash application process starting with a mannequin and transitioning to a live model. The Classic eyelash extension application is meant to enhance your client’s look while preserving the natural look of the eye. This is achieved by applying a single lash extension to every single natural lash on the client’s eye. The process enhances the natural look, making the lashes look fuller and longer while keeping avoiding creating dramatic changes to your client’s eyes. More information on Pearl Lash Classic Training could be found here.

Pearl Lash Volume Training Course and Certification is our advanced level course targeted towards Classic Certified lash artists with various levels of practical experience. Students signing up for this course must be familiar with all the basic theory described in the Classic course curriculum within the paragraph above. Subjects to be covered in this course include proper fan creation starting from 2D and up, proper curl layering, weight calculation formulas, hybrid sets, the difference between a standard Volume and Russian Volume set and much more. The second part of the course is dedicated to the actual Volume lash application process starting with a mannequin and transitioning to a live model. The Volume eyelash extension application is meant to create dramatic looks that are more prominent and more customizable. There are many techniques, calculations and lash mapping techniques that are associated with completing a Volume set however if performed properly, the final results could be breathtaking. More information on Pearl Lash Volume Training could be found here.

Can I register for the Volume Training Class without first attending the Classic Training Class?

We strongly recommend for all our students to have some real-life eyelash extension working experience before proceeding with Volume Training. If you are just beginning on your journey to becoming a professional lash artist, you are strongly encouraged to attend our Classic Training Class before proceeding to Volume. Classic Training will cover all aspects of eyelash extension artist experience, starting from customer interaction and medical consultation, choosing the right products, forms, and techniques, as well as many other basic requirements that every lash artist must know before indulging in the world of eyelash extension artistry. Please remember that proper education from the beginning will help you become a master at this craft.

Training FAQ

What can I expect during the training? What is included in the price of your training?

All of our In-class Training classes are divided into two portions. The first portion of the class is called the “Theory” portion where our trainer will cover all aspects of lash application techniques, various styles, product options, client consultation, medical consultation, eye anatomy, marketing and walk you step by step through the real-world client experience. Each student is provided with a detailed training manual that will walk them through the theory portion of the class and allow them to take notes and perform several practice assignments. Each student keeps their training manual and is encouraged to reference this guide as they continue to practice after completing the class. The second portion of the class is the “Hands-on” portion. In this portion, each student will require to bring a model (look in the “Do I need to bring a model” section of the FAQ) who will be with you for the second part of the day. During the hands-on portion, all students will be provided with a supply kit to use in class that will include everything needed to start working on your model’s eyelashes. Our trainer will help each student with one on one attention and consult each individually throughout the entire process.

Our Online Training information could be found here.

Is the starter kit included for the eyelash extension classes?

Classroom Training: The key fact that distinguishes Pearl Lash from most other training schools is our approach to product selection. While we are a fully stocking eyelash supply warehouse located right here in the state of Florida, most of our Training courses do not require any product purchases*. All supplies used for the hands-on practice portion of our classes are provided free of charge. We do not include the take-home Starter Kit in most of our Classic Eyelash Extension and Volume Eyelash Extension classes in order to make the classes more affordable and give each student the freedom to decide if they choose to proceed with our Starter Kit or proceed with any other brand. Our trainers will gladly take their time to explain the benefits of each brand upon your request and advise each student on the proper product selection.

Online Training: All supplies are included with your Online Training registration.

Do I need to bring a model?

You are strongly encouraged to bring a model with you to the hands-on portion of the training.

Please note that models will not be allowed to sit in during the theory portion of the class.

If you are unable to bring a model please let us know in advance and we will help you find one.

If you are interested in being a model for one of Pearl Lash training events, please visit our Models page to sign up for the waitlist. We do not recommend using a mannequin head during the training, we prefer each student to receive an actual true life experience during the class. Performing an eyelash extension set on a mannequin has a significantly different feel than working on a real person.

My friend and I are both coming to training. Can we be the model for each other?

As fun as it would be to practice on each other, it would not be possible. Our hands-on portion of the class is conducted as a group which means all students will be working on their models simultaneously throughout the second part of the class.  Students will not have an opportunity to swap places during the class.

Would you like to volunteer as a model during one of Pearl Lash Training Events? Register here to get on the list.
